Ogden Union Station Museums 2501 Wall Ave. Ogden, UT 84401 USA Phone: (801) 393-9886 Ogden Union Station Museums, 2501 Wall Ave., houses four museums and two art galleries in Ogden's former 1924 train station. The Browning-Kimball Car Museum exhibits a collection of elegant early 20th-century automobiles. The John M. Browning Firearms Museum displays the well-known handguns, rifles and machine guns created by Ogden's Browning family. The Natural History Museum has items ranging from fossils and arrowheads to a 19-pound, 44,000-carat piece of quartz. The Utah State Railroad Museum interprets the state's railroad history and has an elaborate model railroad depicting scenes from Utah's railroading past; an outdoor exhibit features vintage engines and cars. Gallery at the Station showcases fine art, and the Myra Powell Gallery features the station's permanent art collection. Guided tours are available. Allow 1 hour, 30 minutes minimum.

Fort Buenaventura County Park 2450 A Ave. Ogden, UT 84401 USA Phone: (801) 399-8099 Fort Buenaventura County Park is off I-15, then e. to 2450 A Ave. The park contains a replica of the 1836 stockade and cabins built by trapper Miles Goodyear. Wooden pegs and mortise and tenon joints were used instead of nails in the construction of the stockade. Fishing and canoeing are permitted. Picnic areas and hiking trails are available. Camping is permitted. Allow 30 minutes minimum.

Park Blvd. The park features replicas of prehistoric creatures such as crawlers, dinosaurs, flying reptiles and marine animals from the Permian through the Jurassic and Cretaceous eras. Hill Air Force Base, UT 84056 USA Phone: (801) 777-6818 Hill Aerospace Museum, e. of I-15 exit 338 on Hill Air Force Base, displays aircraft, missiles, engines, bombs and other weapons in more than 100 indoor and outdoor exhibits. A B-1 bomber, B-17 bomber, B-29 Superfortress, B-52 bomber, C-47 cargo plane, C-119 Flying Boxcar, HH-3 Jolly Green Giant helicopter and an SR71 Blackbird are displayed. Changing films include the story of the recovery and restoration of a P-38 airplane that crashed in Alaska. Allow 2 hours minimum.

Museum of Natural Science 3750 Harrison Blvd. Ogden, UT 84408 USA Phone: (801) 626-6653 Museum of Natural Science is 3.5 mi. s.e. via SR 103 at 3750 Harrison Blvd. on the Weber State University campus. The museum contains an exhibit based on the diary of 19th-century geologist and ethnologist John Wesley Powell's river explorations. Other exhibits include dinosaur fossils, rocks, minerals, geologic specimens and a valley glaciation display.

Its grounds, gardens and ponds provide shelter and a natural habitat for birds, insects and small animals. A visitor center houses non-releasable raptors and hands-on and educational exhibits, including an observation bee hive. The center also has 1.5 miles of trails. Picnicking is permitted.
